The olive tree, the most common tree in the Galilee, has grown here for thousands of years. It signifies nature's generosity that bestows upon us vitality, health and good spirit every season again and again.
Did you know the olive tree is mentioned around 20 times in the Bible? It’s a symbol of peace, renewal, and abundance. Most famously, the dove in Noah’s Ark returned with an olive leaf, marking the end of the flood. As one of the Seven Species, the olive tree embodies the deep heritage and prosperity of the land of Israel.
Olive oil is also mentioned in the Bible:
וְאַתָּה תְּצַוֶּה אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְיִקְחוּ אֵלֶיךָ שֶׁמֶן זַיִת זָךְ כָּתִית--לַמָּאוֹר: לְהַעֲלֹת נֵר, תָּמִיד. שמות כז, 20
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually. Exodus 27:20
29 Trees, One Unbreakable Bond: A Living Memorial of Love and Unity:
In 2007, we made the heartfelt decision to plant an olive grove in memory of a beloved family member who passed away too soon. With the help of kind souls, we were given two dunams (approximately half an acre) of land. On the planting day, friends and family gathered together, and with each olive tree we placed into the earth, we felt the connection deepen. We planted 29 trees, each one carrying the love, memory, and spirit of those who came together to honor a life forever in our hearts.

Imagine it's late October or early November. There's a crispness in the air, a gentle autumn breeze carrying the scent of fresh leaves and moisture. As you wander through Israel, you notice people everywhere, busy with one task—it's olive harvesting season. Families, farmers, and even neighbors are out picking olives, whether from a single tree in the backyard or vast groves that stretch across the landscape.
Everyone is focused on the same goal: gathering nature's bounty and transforming it into fresh, vibrant olive oil, meant for personal use, family consumption, or business.
The sun rises, and you step into our family olive grove, planted in memory of a beloved family member.
The trees are heavy with ripe olives. You pick one, press it, and feel the golden oil on your skin—a deep connection to the land of the Bible.
Later, at the olive press, growers from all faiths—Jews, Muslims, and Christians—unite in their love for the olives and harvest. This precious oil, combined with Galilean mint, is infused into your candle, carrying the spirit of the Galilee into your home.
